Hours of Opening

We are open 7 days a week. Our office is staffed 9am to 6pm daily. Our class times extend outside these hours, both before 9am and after 6pm.
 

Terms and Conditions (payment terms)

We run a continuous programme, where we are open all year round, except for a 4 week break over the Xmas/New Year period. We run through the rest of the year including April, July and October school holidays.
 

Payments Terms:

Fees are payable on the 1st week of the month, 1 month in advance by internet banking, EFTPOS, cash, or credit card. FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Upon leaving our programme any outstanding payments will incur a late fee charge of $5.00 if an account is sent to you. If the amount outstanding has not been paid within 14 days the account will be passed to a debt collection agency and you will be liable for any fees charged by the collection agency.

Please note our months are NOT calendar months. We arrange our months into even weeks so that everyone is charged the same amount for each month eg. some months are 4 weeks long and some are 5 weeks long. Parental Supervision:

The safety of everyone attending Mairangi Swim School is our primary concern. It is not always possible for the instructors to supervise all children at all times, particularly during “playtime” after the lessons. We ask that you supervise your children at all times while on our premises. It would help us if you ensure that teaching aids used by your child e.g. floaties, boards and those played with by waiting children are not left on walkways or steps. The best place is on the pool surround where the teachers can re-use them.

 

Make-up Lesson:

Should you miss a lesson, we kindly ask that you inform the Swim School prior to the lesson time. The Swim School will then arrange a “make-up” lesson at your request, at a time other than the normal lesson time. You may take the “make-up” lesson within 3 months* from the missed lesson. Please make sure to attend the arranged “make-up” lesson, as it cannot be rescheduled. We ask that you attend to all “make-ups” prior to leaving the programme. Be sure to notify us of your absence PRIOR to the lesson time to be eligible for a “make-up” lesson.

 

Public Holidays:

The Swim School is closed on the actual Public Holiday i.e. Labour weekend – we are open on the Saturday and Sunday, closed on Monday, Labour Day. There is no charge for the Public Holiday.
 

School Holidays:

The Swim School is open during the school holidays. It is a great time to catch up with make-ups. Inter-term School Holidays (the two week holiday between school terms): If you are leaving Auckland for the school holidays, and tell the office staff in advance of the absence, there will be no charge for the swimming lessons that occur during the two weeks of the school holidays. Please consult our office wall calendar to confirm the dates of the school holidays. NB. If your child attends one lesson each week, then over the two weeks of the school holidays you will be entitled to two ‘holidays’ (lessons with no charge).

End-of-Year School Holidays (occurring in December and January): To retain your lesson place in January; fees for January must be received in advance of our annual maintenance break. Our annual maintenance break is for four weeks in December and January, usually beginning the week before Christmas. For holidays taken out of Auckland which occur outside the annual maintenance break, where the Swim School has been notified in advance, you will be entitled to a ‘make up’ for the missed lesson.
 

General:

• We have “Call Minder” so messages can be left at any hour. Don’t forget to tell us your child’s name, lesson day and time.
• If your child is absent for 2 consecutive classes and we have had no contact from you, there is a risk that you will lose your place.
• Occasionally we have equipment breakdowns or some other unplanned event, which necessitates cancellation of classes. Under these circumstances you will automatically get a credit. We will make every effort to notify you of a closure.
• We require at least 1 weeks notice prior to finishing our programme.
